ACCOUNTANT

What do you do?

My main role is Accounts and VAT preparation, making sure everything is ready and to the best standard for the final submission.

What do you enjoy about your work?

One thing I enjoy about work is that it helps alongside my AAT studies and so I can feel myself progressing every day. I also enjoy the atmosphere in the workplace, everybody gets along really well and helps each other, sort of like one big family.

What do you enjoy about life?

When I’m not at work, I get very involved with my local young farmers club. Having grown up on a farm, young farmers allows me to socialise with people I have a lot in common with whilst also giving back to the community and getting involved in fundraising and charity work. I am currently the secretary and the treasurer of my club, which also helps alongside work as I have to prepare the accounts for my club and keep the money safe and ensure were not spending money that we do not have!

When I’m not at young farmers I can often be found driving a tractor and helping on my dad’s farm, Riding my horse Charlie, or out and about with my friends.

Do you have a pet hate or things people do that irritates you?

One pet hate that I have is poor organisational skills. It bugs me when people drop out of plans last minute or are late to things. Other than these I don’t really have anything else that gets to me!
